From APEC to IPEF: Ravaging the Global South

The webinar will feature rich discussion on free trade and neoliberal globalization, with APEC as one example of multilateral agreements that have destroyed economies of the South in order to buoy the rich economies of the North (e.g. US) and swell the profits of the TNCs. The webinar will have a stark historical outlook, tracing various free trade agreements since 1989, posited with the various economic crisis (e.g. 1997 Financial Crisis) that were created and induced by these free trade agreements and Neoliberal Globalization. Working peoples (i.e workers and peasants) will share their experiences under neoliberal globalization and how exploitation of their work and resources by the imperialists have impoverished their sectors, pushed their economies to ruin, and how they have struggled through decades of plunder and exploitation by the imperialists.
