[STATEMENT] IMA Statement on the Israel and US continuation of Genocide of the Palestinian People

20th March 2025

The International Migrants Alliance condemns in the strongest possible terms the Zionist Israel State and US Imperialism. They have caused immense and irreversible damage to Palestine, humanity, our communities and our world.

In the morning of 18th March, Tuesday, US-backed Israel launched a devastating assault on Gaza, killing more than 400 Palestinian civilians and severely injuring more than 600 in under 10 hours, completely breaking the ceasefire deal after just two months. Around 73 percent of the martyrs are women and children.

The continued siege, bombardment, massacres and deliberate starvation of Palestinians are crimes against humanity. The Zionist Israeli state, with the full backing of U.S. imperialism, is waging an all-out war not just against Palestinians in Gaza, but against refugees, displaced peoples, and all who resist colonial occupation. This massacre is part of a long history of ethnic cleansing and forced displacement, designed to erase the Palestinian people from their own land.

For decades, Israel has carried out a brutal occupation and genocide against the Palestinian people. Since the Nakba (1947-1949), when over 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homeland, Israel has continued its campaign of ethnic cleansing, killing approximately 15,000 Palestinians during that period alone. The violence has persisted, with significant escalations such as the recent Gaza occupation, resulting in over 47,000 palestinian deaths and displacing 1.7 million people. With relentless military aggression, illegal settlements, and apartheid policies, Israel has systematically sought to erase Palestine.

The IMA actively continues to link with member organisations and networks to heighten awareness and contribute to the campaign to support the Palestinian struggle for justice and liberation.

Long live Palestine and its people.
