On the occasion of the International Migrants Day, the International Migrants Alliance (IMA) gives our salute to all migrants and displaced people who continue to work on the ground to defend the rights and promote the wellbeing of the sector.
We give our highest regard to grassroots migrants who – despite odds and obstacles – continue to build their organized strength, empower their communities, expose their real conditions, and confront policies and powers that exploit, oppress and marginalize foreign workers.
Consolidate our ranks! Resist imperialist offensives against migrants and people!

Migrants all over the world must prepare for the future bodes of heightened offensives of imperialist globalization against the rights, dignity and wellbeing of migrants and refugees, and all other exploited and oppressed people.
The end of the World Trade Organization (WTO) 9th Ministerial Conference in Bali, Indonesia resulted to a deal that will further open up economies of many underdeveloped and developing countries to imperialist plunder, and intensify the implementation of the destructive policies of neoliberalization globalization – all in a desperate attempt of imperialist, chiefly the United States, to salvage the crisis-ridden capitalist system. As we commemorate the 12th year of the International Migrants Day, the International Migrants’ Alliance (IMA) salutes all migrant workers, refugees, displaced peoples and their families as we all contribute to building a movement for the recognition, upholding and protection of our rights and dignity.
In many countries, migrant organizations and unions engage governments of both migrant-sending and receiving countries to challenge and call for the repeal of anti-migrant policies, to address immediate concerns and campaigns about imperiled migrants, devise alternatives and propositions to resolve forced labor migration.
